Thermals: CHO-THERM® – T609
CHO-THERM® T609 interface material is a cost-effective solution designed to provide superior thermal and electrical properties. Reinforced with fiberglass cloth to resist tear, cut-through, and punctures from burrs and other mating irregularities. CHO-THERM® T609 elastomer is formulated to be softer than other thermally conductive insulators to provide excellent performance at lower pressures.
Critical Performance Characteristics
There are generally two objectives that must be satisfied in the interface between power semiconductor devices and their heat sinks:
- To Enhance the flow of heat from the device to the metal heat sink.
- To electrically isolate the device from the metal heat sink.
CHO-THERM® T609 insulators perform both functions simultaneously, effectivly replacing the commonly used combination of ceramic insulators and silicone grease usually required to achieve these objectives in high performance applications.

CHO-THERM® T609 material is available in sheet stock or in die-cut parts. It is also available with a pressure sensitive adhesive on one side to assist in assembly and manufacturing.
