Tapes/Film: Electrical
A wide variety of electrical grade, pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes have been developed by Permacel® to hold, reinforce, protect and insulate magnetic wire in electrical and electronic components, devices and equipment. Careful choice of tape backings and adhesive systems assure a minimal-corrosive construction which will function dependably under specified design conditions.
Adhesive Systems
Rubber
Carefully chosen natural and synthetic elastomers, combined with tactifying and cross-linking resins, provide an electrolytically non-corrosive base. After thermosetting, rubber systems are capable of continuous operating temperatures up to 130°C depending on tape backing
Non-Thermosetting
The same as rubber adhesive except without cross-linking resins.
Semi-Cured
These rubber systems which have been partially cured in tape manufacture. Solvent resistance and roll stability are improved. May be further cured for maximum solvent resistance and adhesion. Have a 130°C continuous temperature capability.
Acyrlic
Synthetic resin/elastomer based systems, capable of up to 155°C operating temperatures. Initially good pre-thermoset solvent resistance may be increased by further curing in application.
Thermoplastic
The same as acrylic adhesive except without cross-linking resins
Oil Resistant
Specifically formulated acrylic adhesive for ultimate mineral oil resistance after thermosetting.
Siliccne
Resin/elastomer system recommended for service up to 180°C. Does not normally require thermosetting, but adhesive strength and solvent resistance can be maximized by an additional high temperature post-cure. High and low temperature capabilities are unique. Ideal adhesives for use with flame retardent backings to achieve flame retardent tapes.
Flame Retardent Acyrlic
An acrylic resin based system capable of continuous 155°C operating temperature. Inherent excellent solvent resistance which can be enhanced by curing in application. Adhesive modified with flame retarding compound to give self-extinguishing properties.
